Brighton – Chelsea FC 2017-2018 season

The Blues visit the Amex to ring in the new year with some style. Having not played Chelsea since the 80s The Seagulls now face them for the second time in a few days as English football’s festive season silliness continues.
Whilst most of the big European leagues take a well earned rest Chelsea and Albion have to pick themselves up, dust themselves down and go again.

Facing the Champions is a daunting enough but doing so twice in quick succession knowing that they haven’t beaten The Blues since 1933 makes things all the harder. That said, maybe it could play into Albion’s hands, if they can pull off a win in the away game on Boxing Day who’s to say that they can’t do the double over them, a feat that no team managed in the league in 2016/17. (This is being written before the season kicks off so I apologise for any hyperbole concerning results).

As Hazard and Willian visit the Amex Blues fans will be hoping that the New Year hangover is still in effect so that the opportunistic Seagulls can take three points as swiftly as their namesake will steal your chips
